Senior Manager Application Engineering


Job Description

This senior role will lead key technical engagements with Tier 1 global customers to secure strategic advantage through technology leadership and partnership.  A broad comprehension of power conversion is required including familiarity with digital PWM controllers, magnetics, PDN analysis, and VR and system level modeling and simulation. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Technical Leadership: Leverage deep domain expertise to provide guidance to multi-disciplined development teams.  Ensure teams are focused on winning solutions.  Share your knowledge and elevate less experienced team members. 

  • System Level Modeling: Combine PWM controller, power stage, and PDN models to provide critical, decision-making guidance to both product development and customer engagements.   

  • Customer Engagement: Win customers’ trust by superior technical consultation and design service, and secure strategic position through technology leadership and partnership.   

  • Team Management: Lead the System Application team and coordinate the resources available to ensure coverage of the customer engagements from concept and proposal to design execution and validation.   

  


Qualifications

  • This role requires broad knowledge in power electronics (offline and in-system power conversion, topology and control, latest power semiconductor device and passive component technologies etc.) and modern computing/IT systems, and deep technical strength in high performance multiphase power management related to CPU’s and other high current ASIC’s.
  • Deep technical capability will be combined with excellent communication skills, including customer facing, to create the capability to own major technical engagements, and be the go-to expert within the highly skillful team. 
  • Previous design or application team management experience is required.
  • Typical requirements are a minimum of 15-20 years of relevant semiconductor or in-system/on-board voltage regulator experiences with hands-on lab and simulation capabilities.  
  • MS or PhD degree in EE – power electronics preferred - is required.

The position is located in Austin, TX.  In this position, you will provide the high-level leadership needed to drive development of cutting edge, high-density power solutions for the top tier customers. By directly engaging the most influential customers in the AI/hyper-scale datacenter markets, you will ensure that our products and solutions solve the most pressing customer problems.  You will lead a highly focused system application team, and engage cross functionally with diverse teams including marketing, software engineering, IC design, and other applications engineering teams to deliver the industry’s most innovative power solutions.
